Celebrate Homecoming by supporting OSVPE's work with Sydney's platform of sexual violence prevention resources!
Celebrate Homecoming by supporting OSVPE's work with Sydney's platform of sexual violence prevention resources! Sydney Thomas- Omega Phi Alpha My name is Sydney Thomas, and my platform, Safer Spaces with Sydney, aims to increase awareness and use of sexual violence prevention resources on Virginia Tech’s campus. I hope to use my platform to contribute to a culture of respect in the Virginia Tech community, where no one has to live in fear of violence against themselves, or the people they love. If elected homecoming royalty, I will work with my sponsoring organization, Omega Phi Alpha, as well as the Office of Sexual Violence Prevention and Education, to put on an interactive consent and bystander intervention resource fair. At this event, students and community members will be able to learn how they can make our campus a safer space. I chose this platform because I have seen first-hand how devastating the impacts of sexual violence can be, which is even more heartbreaking knowing just how often it is a part of the student experience. According to RAINN,13% of all college students experience rape or sexual assault, with rates even higher for undergraduate women at 26.4%. In addition, both male and female college students aged 18-24 are at increased risk of experiencing sexual violence. I chose my platform because despite the current situation, I truly believe that we, the Virginia Tech community, are capable of preventing violence on our campus. I am so excited to work with the Office of Sexual Violence Prevention and Education (OSVPE) on my platform. I have worked for the office as a peer educator since it was established in 2024 and wholeheartedly believe in the importance and impact of the work they do. OSVPE works to increase awareness of gender-based violence through educational campaigns and workshops, to create safe and inclusive spaces for dialogue, to promote bystander intervention, and to foster collaboration between departments and student organizations. I encourage everyone to learn more about their mission, vision, and resources at svpe.vt.edu and @svpe_vt on Instagram. Gifts of any amount will go towards the Office of Sexual Violence Prevention and Education to support programming and initiatives designed to help students, faculty, and staff learn how to make Virginia Tech a safer space for all Hokies. Thank you in advance for your gift!

While coming to college can feel daunting and overwhelming at times, I believe that no one should feel alone. My partnering organization, Student Engagement and Campus Life (SECL), fosters connections around campus by hosting meaningful events, cultivating affirming environments, and providing opportunities for people to come together to try something new. With a presence well-known across our campus, SECL strives to make the college experience a little bit better for every student who comes by. All gifts will go toward SECL, providing the funding to give students opportunities to have fun and make new friends. Thank you in advance for your gift!

Support Virginia Tech Women's Center | Homecoming 2025
Support Virginia Tech Women's Center | Homecoming 2025
Celebrate Homecoming by supporting The Women's Center's work with Michaela's platform of domestic violence awareness!
Celebrate Homecoming by supporting The Women's Center's work with Michaela's platform of domestic violence awareness! Michaela Long - AXO The platform Magnifying Healthy Love with Michaela (Domestic Violence Awareness) is dedicated to creating a campus where healthy love thrives. My goal is to educate the Virginia Tech community on the signs of healthy relationships, provide resources for those in unhealthy ones, and build a campus culture where reaching out for help is never difficult. I am committed to being a passionate advocate for positive change. I chose this platform due to the startling prevalence of dating violence among college students. Data shows that 1 in 4 women and 1 in 9 men experience physical violence from a partner in their lifetime, with college-aged students at the highest risk. Alarmingly, 57% of students find it difficult to identify dating abuse, and 70% of those who experienced it were unaware at the time. This lack of awareness highlights a critical need for education and advocacy on our campus. I am proud to be working with the Women's Center at Virginia Tech to fortify my platform. The Women’s Center is a vital resource that creates an affirming and supportive environment through advocacy and education to advance gender equity. A key part of their work is the CARES (Campus Advocacy, Resources and Education) program, which provides essential support for survivors of violence. The Women's Center's mission directly connects to my platform by providing the educational and supportive infrastructure needed to combat dating violence on campus. Their programs offer a safe and understanding environment for students who may be suffering in silence. By partnering with them, I can ensure that any support I gain goes directly toward empowering students and creating a campus where healthy relationships thrive and no one suffers alone. Gifts of any amount will go toward supporting The Women's Center at Virginia Tech's work in education around domestic violence. Your contribution will make a significant difference in the experience of students, helping to ensure that no one suffers in silence. Thank you in advance for your gift!

Celebrate Homecoming by supporting The Women's Center's work with Amelia's platform of supporting survivors of sexual violence!
Celebrate Homecoming by supporting The Women's Center's work with Amelia's platform of supporting survivors of sexual violence! Amelia Kurowska - Theta My platform, Advocating for Survivors with Amelia, aims to create safe spaces for survivors ofsexual assault. The goal is to help bring awareness and educate people on how to have difficultconversations with their peers. No one should have to experience sexual assault or endure thechallenging healing process, but unfortunately it’s a common issue, especially on collegecampuses. My aim is to help create supportive communities for survivors as they go throughtheir healing journeys, because no one should have to face it alone. I am thrilled to be partnering with the Women’s Center at Virginia Tech, specifically the CARES(Campus Advocacy, Resources, and Education for Survivors) program. They work hard toprovide support and foster community for everyone on campus. They advocate for survivors, offer resources for prevention, and guide students in moving forward after assault. The Women’sCenter grounds its work in inclusivity, intersectionality, trauma-informed care, anti-racism, socialjustice, and anti-oppression. Gifts of any amount will directly support the Women’s Center work with survivors of sexualassault and will make a difference in the experience of the students involved.Thank you in advance for your gift!

Celebrate Homecoming by supporting Relay for Life's work with Alli's platform of supporting families of ill children!
Celebrate Homecoming by supporting Relay for Life's work with Alli's platform of supporting families of ill children! Alli Jones - Alpha Delta Pi My campaign, Rally with Alli, is dedicated to supporting Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) of Southwest Virginia, in partnership with Virginia Tech Relay for Life. RMHC provides a “home-away-from-home” for families with children receiving medical care, offering comfort, meals, and community during some of their most difficult times. By partnering with Relay for Life, we are combining the spirit of Hokie service with a powerful student organization committed to fighting cancer and supporting families in need. As part of my campaign, I will host a day of service at Virginia Tech where students can write letters of encouragement, create crafts for families, and hear directly from RMHC representatives about the impact of their mission. By bringing this cause to campus, Hokies gain the opportunity to connect service with purpose, deepen ties to the Roanoke community, and live out Ut Prosim, That I May Serve. Funds raised through this campaign will go directly to Virginia Tech Relay for Life, furthering their mission of raising awareness, funding research, and supporting families impacted by cancer. Your contribution not only strengthens this partnership but also empowers Hokies to make a lasting difference. Join me in rallying together to serve families, spread hope, and fight for brighter futures. Every gift matters, and I am thankful for your support.

Eric Albi - SEED My platform Arrive Alive with Albi focuses on promoting safe driving habits and raising awareness around the dangers of distracted and impaired driving.
