Description
Every Heartbeat Matters with Julia was inspired by my own experience with sudden cardiac arrest. Experiencing a life-threatening emergency firsthand showed me just how quickly a normal day can change and how important it is to have people nearby who know what to do. My platform is dedicated to spreading CPR education and awareness, along with empowering students with the knowledge and confidence to act in an emergency. I am partnering with Virginia Tech Recreational Sports to promote CPR education and emergency preparedness on campus, where students are active and participating in sports and fitness. Rec Sports plays an important role in promoting health, wellness, and safe environments for the Hokie community. Together, my platform and Recreational Sports can help students understand the importance of CPR and feel confident responding to an emergency.
