Support Awareness of Eating Disorders in NRV | Homecoming 2026
Description
Mind Over Mirror with Marysia is about bringing awareness to eating disorders, educating
students/members of the NRV on impacts of eating disorders, and sharing resources
provided by Virginia Tech and resources within the NRV. Eating disorders are becoming more
prevalent in day-to-day lives especially within college students. The goal of my platform is to
uplift those going through an eating disorder and create a community of support and
resources, so people recognize they do not have to go through these battles alone.
I am proud to be able to work with Hokie Wellness on my platform. Hokie Wellness is a student
service that provides educational services, programming and resources to enhance the well
being of Hokies. No student or community member should have to feel how I did; alone, stuck
and scared. It is crucial that we start breaking the stigma surrounding eating disorders, share
support resources, educate others, and create an uplifting space for people to recover. Hokie
Wellness is a great resource for students to find support and create an uplifting community.
Gifts of any amount will go towards supporting Hokie Wellness and their work in student and
employee well being. Thank you for your donation!
