The Virginia Tech Center for Autism Research was established in the College of Science to promote collaborative research on Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) and related conditions from multiple disciplinary perspectives. The VT Center for Autism Research builds upon basic research and clinical resources already available at Virginia Tech and works closely with the Virginia Tech Autism Clinic and other autism service providers to provide outreach on research findings, conduct research, and recruit participants.
The VT Center for Autism Research has a mission of merging science and service. We incorporate the Virginia Tech motto of Ut Prosim (That I May Serve) by serving the rural Appalachian community around us. Our autism research incorporates an implementation science framework to ensure that evidence-based autism treatments are employed where possible. The Virginia Tech Center for Autism Research hosts an annual autism research conference every spring to share our research with the larger community. If you are interested in our research science or our services, please feel free to contact us.
The Virginia Tech Center for Autism Research partners closely with the Virginia Tech Autism Clinic. Our autism research informs the clinical work at the Autism Clinic, and the clinic helps keep our focus on implementation science and our service mission.

This donation allows us to motivate parents and community members to speak about their experiences and daily encounters with the Autistic population. These panels help educate those directly affected and those not affected by Autism Spectrum Disorders to better the general public.
