This morning, our Jump crowdfunding campaign officially ended. After a month of fundraising, we've been given a grand total of $5,507! Thank you to all of our donors who made this possible. Your support of Virginia 4-H is truly appreciated, and your contribution will make a difference in the lives of True Leaders across the state. 

There’s just a week left in our campaign for State 4-H Congress! Let’s keep pushing so we can reach our goal by November 1st.

State 4-H Congress is a positive, educational, and fun summer activity for Virginia teens. Alongside the dynamic workshops, assemblies, and competitions, 4-Hers have time to enjoy themselves on campus and develop friendships that last a lifetime. As part of the evening activities, youth delegates get to take advantage of the on-campus BreakZONE, where they can bowl, play pool, or just hang out with friends. Congress also hosts the Congressional Games, where teens compete in everything from cup stacking to cornhole to the highly-anticipated volleyball tournament. On the final night of Congress, 4-Hers dress up for the final dance and dessert social. State 4-H Congress is proud to provide a week of growth and fun for our 4-H teens.

At State 4-H Congress, youth delegates have the opportunity to compete with their peers across the state in a number of exciting competition areas. Virginia 4-H grows confidence through competition, allowing teens to demonstrate their skills. Competitions held at State 4-H Congress include Extemporaneous Speaking, Food Challenge, Science Fair, and Share-the-Fun, among many others. Those individuals who receive high scores are then recognized at the Share-the-Fun assembly. Competition work truly grows Virginia 4-Hers into the confident leaders of tomorrow.

Assemblies at State 4-H Congress are exciting events that feature inspiring talent and guest speakers. Every other year, Virginia 4-H hosts the nationally renowned Clovers & Co., the Georgia 4-H performing arts group. The group is composed of singers, dancers, and musicians who are the very best of Georgia 4-H talent. Clovers & Co. has performed at many national events, including National 4-H Congress. They’ve also performed with country star Jennifer Nettles. Each year, Clovers & Co. develops a new show to take across the country, and Virginia 4-H is proud to be a part of their tour!

State 4-H Congress has a lot to offer Virginia youth. Among the many opportunities available, 4-Hers participate in the Great Summer Showcase. GSS workshops offer youth delegates exciting, hands-on learning in a variety of content areas.

Come June, hundreds of 4-Hers will be participating in a GSS workshop of their choice. Some will learn about the genetic technology behind the cattle industry. Others will be learning all about money management. Some 4-Hers will spend their time in the Virginia Bioinformatics Institute. Congress participants have options from practicing yoga, to writing their own video games, and everything in between. There truly is a GSS workshop to inspire and engage every youth delegate.
