Thank you for visiting The Animal Assisted Therapy Program’s Homecoming page- Homecoming 2024 is over but the celebration doesn't have to stop there! Please consider supporting this organization by donating at give.vt.edu.
Hi! My name is Jackie Mitchell. I am a member of the 2024 Homecoming court and the platform Finding Joy with Jackie! My goal is to find ways to increase joy in people's lives. It's incredible how studies show that performing daily micro-acts of joy can increase your emotional well-being over a week by 25%! This is a powerful reminder that we have the ability to shape our own happiness. I want to help people tap into life's moments that make them happy.
You can support me and my platform by donating to my partnering department- Virginia Tech's therapy dogs! The Therapy dogs, Josie, Derek and Epcot help bring a more positive space to students around campus through their various pop up events in home of helping to de-stigmatize the conversation around mental health.
Donations of any size are greatly appreciated and will go towards the Animal Assistance Therapy Program and will benefit all student experiences involved.
Thank you in advance for your gift!
Gifts are critical to continuing to provide financial support to departments. Help us help other Hokies!
As our local students celebrate homecoming, help us make Blacksburg feel more like home with a gift.
Current seniors who make a gift of $5 or more to this project will have their gift count as their Senior Class Gift. Gifts of $25+ will receive a commemorative mug and graduation cord as a thank you from the committee. More information can be found about the Senior Class Gift and mug/cord pick up times by visiting https://www.alumni.vt.edu/young-alumni/gift
Supporting Virginia Tech and the Hokie community is a part of who we are. Your donation is a way to celebrate being a part of Hokie Nation.
