Love is Kind with Kylie and the Virginia Tech Women's Center

The Love is Kind with Kylie (Domestic Violence Awareness) platform seeks to gain support for the cause that proves that violence should have no place in our treatment of others, no matter what. I believe that any form of violence within our homes and in our relationships is unacceptable, and want to use this platform to share resources, educate our community, and foster an environment that speaks out against domestic violence.

I am proud to be working with the Women’s Center at Virginia Tech to fortify my platform. The Women’s Center serves the Virginia Tech community in creating an affirming and supportive environment through advocacy and education in order to advance gender equity. The Women’s Center is also home to the CARES (Campus Advocacy, Resources and Education) program for survivors of violence. 

I have learned so much about the work that the Women’s Center does in the fight against domestic violence, including these programs and many more educational/supportive programs that have been put in place to assist the campus community. Domestic violence is a hidden evil- many times we cannot tell what happens behind closed doors. But with resources such as the Women’s Center at Virginia Tech we give our community members an environment where they feel safe and understood.

Gifts of any amount will go towards supporting The Women's Center at Virginia Tech's work in education around domestic violence, and will make a difference in the experience of the students involved.
