Virginia Tech Club Ice Hockey was formed in 1985 and provides an opportunity for students to continue their passion to play competitively at the collegiate level. The club is a member of ACHA (American Collegiate Hockey Association) and competes in the ACCHL (Atlantic Coast Collegiate Hockey League) against top collegiate clubs from the ACHA Northeast, Southeast and Central regions. The club carries a roster of approximately 30 players and schedules a season of about 25 games. Team practices and home games are at the LancerLot in Vinton, VA.
Gifts made to Virginia Tech Club Ice Hockey will help pay for club equipment, including helmets, pads and goalkeeper gear, which cost more than $10,000.00/year. Gifts will also help pay for facility rental fees and travel expenses, which can cost several thousands of dollars each year.
