Another National Champion!

Caleb Henson is a National Champion! The sophomore from Georgia finished atop the 149-pound weight class with a 15-7 defeat of Michigan's Austin Gomez Saturday evening in Kansas City. Henson, who also upset the previously ranked No. 1 wrestler in the 149-weight class on Friday night, is the second national champion in Hokie history and the fourth Hokie in program history to be a NCAA finalist.

Head coach Tony Robie has identified the following key needs to advance the program to the next level in college wrestling:

• Staffing Expansion: the team is looking to add an additional coach to assist with training and recruiting.
• Top-tier training equipment: the team is looking to add more advanced fitness equipment from heart rate tracking devices to treadmill bikes to continue to understand their student-athletes health and fitness analytics.
• Travel: with conference and national tournaments ahead, wrestling can always use travel support to help send their talented student-athletes across the country, specifically for the bigger trips towards the end of the season.
