On behalf of the entire Pamplin Leadership Development Team, we would like to sincerely thank everyone who sponsored our 19th annual Pamplin Leadership Conference. It was a huge success and we could not have done it without your support.
Eighty-six students, eight companies, plus twenty student leaders from the Pamplin Leadership Development Team, attended the conference. The companies included Grant Thornton, Dixon Hughes Goodman, EY, Target, KPMG, Capital One, Deloitte, and PwC. Since the conference, we have received excellent feedback from both the attending companies and students. We received this feedback from a company, "The student representatives were checking up with me very often to see if I needed any assistance. They were a group of thoughtful and friendly individuals.” "The attendees were exceptional,” quoted one company. Feel free to reference the pictures below that showcase the activities of the day.
Thank you again for your support!

We first met Mr. Abugideiri at our conference in the spring of 2016, where he represented Pamplin's Recent Alumni Board. He made an immediate impact at the conference by sharing his real world wisdom and experience as a successful young professional. In 2016, Mr. Abugideiri was named to InvestmentNews' 40 under 40 list, which recognizes members of the financial advisory industry under the age of 40 who have changed the industry for the better. He will share his story on how he got to where he is today at the conference during our Key Note presentation.

Ben Kennedy, one of our passionate corporate relations committee members, talks about why he attended the Pamplin Leadership Conference and why he later joined the team!
"I joined LDT to help create a professional and fun conference for my peers. My freshman year, I attended the conference and it left a lasting impact on me. For the first time, I was given the opportunity to speak with an employer one on one. In addition, I gained leadership, networking, and professional skills from the workshops. After leaving the conference, I knew I wanted to be a part of this amazing team that gave me the chance to get my foot in the door of the company I would eventually end up interning for (PwC). I want to help another Hokie become a better leader and employee. “
- Erica Nagotko
"The conference was a great experience for me, before attending the conference I wasn’t confident in my professional aspirations and even less confident talking to recruiters. During the day I had the opportunity to talk to companies in a more relaxed environment than I’d experienced in the past, it helped me feel more comfortable and allowed me to make stronger connections than I had at business horizons. I also attended a breakout session that discussed goal-setting and how to reach your goals, this helped me visualize my career aspirations and what I needed to do to get there. I left the conference more motivated than ever to succeed."
- Carolyn Dixon
