Our performance at the College Band Directors National Association Southern Division Conference on February 23 was the most meaningful performance the VT Wind Ensemble has ever given. For our students, this experience led to immeasurable personal and ensemble growth. Among other things, our student–musicians described this event as “exciting,” “memorable,” “inspiring,” and “unbelievable." Through your donations and support, our students were able to focus on their responsibilities to the music and ensemble instead of worrying about paying a substantial bill to make this honor possible for everyone. This opportunity would not have been possible without your financial support and generosity. Thank you for everything you have given to us in the process of reaching this dream.

Our project has come to an end! We raised $14,264 to support the Wind Ensemble's performance at the CBDNA Southern Division conference. Thank you so much for all your support!

Hello everyone,

As you all know, the response and enthusiasm towards this project has been incredible. By every metric, the campaign has been a resounding success—all due to each of you and your support for these incredible students. Thank you!

Originally our campaign was scheduled to run for 45 days. However, because we have exceeded our wildest expectations, we are ending the campaign at the 30-day mark. The campaign will officially end on Tuesday, November 7 at 3:00 PM.

Please continue to spread the word and encourage anyone who you know might be interested in giving to do so before Tuesday. As we noted in our previous updates, any funds we raise beyond our budgeted amount of $23,000 will be reserved for other band operational expenses.

It’s official—we’ve passed the $10,000 mark! We’re overwhelmed by the tremendous outpouring of support towards this incredible accomplishment by our students. Thank you! In fact, because of the speed with which we raised these funds and because of your generosity, we are stretching our goal.

If we can raise $3,000 more, we will be able to take the students to a meal after the performance allowing them to celebrate their accomplishment together. We will also professionally record and stream on the VT website a previously unknown piece we are performing at CBDNA by renowned Japanese composer Toru Takemitsu. This piece has never been performed or recorded in the United States which means we would present this piece to the national band community for the first time—an incredible honor. In order to fund these two activities, we have raised our total fundraising goal to $13,000.

Just so you are aware, the total cost of the tour is $23,000 and you’ve already helped us raise $10,000 of that. Thank you!
