Support VT Engage | Homecoming 2024

The Channel Change with Charlie (Community Engagement Opportunities) platform seeks to gain support in putting resources toward volunteer opportunities to positively support the New River Valley and Virginia Tech community through service, community engagement, voting, and addressing food insecurity. I believe that there are multiple ways we can create a positive change for ourselves, our close friends, and our community; two out of three people volunteer to give back to the community, and four out of five people volunteer because of the cause. I strive to use this platform to open doors for service opportunities in Blacksburg, educate the value and impact each service opportunity holds, and share resources to foster positive change in the New River Valley.

I am beyond excited to be partnering with VT Engage: The Center for Leadership & Service Learning to empower my platform. VT Engage serves the Virginia Tech community by seeking to equip students to serve as change agents who make the world more equitable and just through their commitment to community and civic engagement. VT Engage is also home to The Big Event, a student-run day of service that completes nearly 1,200 community service projects throughout Blacksburg, Christiansburg, and the New River Valley with the purpose of saying Thank You!

Ever since my freshman year, I have been grateful to be a part of VT Engage where countless programs in service learning, leadership, civic engagement, and food insecurity are making a difference within and beyond Virginia Tech. Whether it's organizing local events, maintaining community spaces, or providing assistance to those in need, volunteers play a crucial role in enhancing the well-being of the New River Valley. No matter what, this is home for Hokies, residents, and all. Let’s channel change to a better tomorrow. With resources through VT Engage, positive change is possible.

Donations of any size are greatly appreciated and will go towards VT Engage’s work in creating community engagement opportunities and will benefit all students involved.

Thank you in advance for your gift!
