The VT Neurotrauma Research Consortium conducts basic and translational research evaluating the impact of brain injury on the development of chronic illnesses such as post-traumatic epilepsy.
We are actively pursuing research on non-invasive, video-based methods for seizure detection, and we need your help to advance technology to help individuals with brain injury and to support training the next generation of researchers!
With community support, we will purchase SeizureScan equipment needed for detecting and understanding when and how these behaviors occur. These studies will also allow us to expand undergraduate training opportunities in neurotrauma research and potential biomarkers for seizure detection.

What is the VT Neurotrauma Research Consortium?
The Virginia Tech (VT) Neurotrauma Research Consortium is an interdisciplinary collaboration between Biomedical Sciences, Biomedical Engineering, the School of Neuroscience, CALS (College of Agriculture and Life Sciences), and the Carilion Brain Injury Center.
