FFA’s roots began at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University in 1925, and today remains a premier youth development organization of Virginia Tech as part of Virginia Cooperative Extension. FFA is dedicated to making a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth and career success through agricultural education. Careers and industries that touch the production of food, fiber, energy and forest products provide more than $105B of economic impact and 490,000 jobs in the Commonwealth according to the Virginia Department of Agriculture. All are critical to supporting our most basic needs.

Formal education in middle and high school is supported by the FFA organization with hands-on, “real world” experiences that prepare youth for long-term success.

FFA not only prepares students to be the agriculture leaders of tomorrow, it creates a voice of advocacy to promote the food, fiber [and natural resources] industries throughout the world.” - Robert Mills, agriculture producer, VT Alumnus, and former president of Virginia FFA.

DONATIONS FAQs

Is my contribution tax deductible?

Yes, gifts made through crowdfund.vt.edu are philanthropic contributions to the Virginia Tech Foundation and are tax-deductible as prescribed by law. For gifts made to the Hokie Scholarship Fund, please refer to the tax information on your emailed receipt.

Will I receive a receipt for my contribution?

Yes, you will receive an email receipt shortly after you complete your gift. Please hold on to this email for tax purposes. If you have any questions or issues with the email receipt please contact give.to.vt@vt.edu.

When will my credit card be charged?

Immediately after finalizing your gift on the site.

What is your refund policy?

Charitable gifts to the Virginia Tech Foundation, a 501(c)(3) organization, are not refundable.

What do I do if my payment is declined?

Please ensure that the billing address entered on the donation page is the same as the billing address for your credit/debit card. Mismatched addresses and/or ZIP codes will result in payments being declined.
