Help packaging and sustainable biomaterials students get hands-on experience!
Are you a Virginia Tech packaging and systems design alum who wants to stay connected to the program? Did you major in sustainable biomaterials and wish you had more opportunities for practical experience? Or do you just have a passion for sustainability and undergraduate education?
Step up and make a gift today to support experiential learning opportunities in the Department of Sustainable Biomaterials, part of the College of Natural Resources and Environment (CNRE).
Experiential learning is the hallmark of a CNRE education. Our students learn by doing and solving real problems, and they graduate with the skills employers need. You can give students a leg up and the chance to participate in career-building experiences like:
- Designing packaging solutions for small business owners
- Researching how to make wood-based materials stronger
- Learning on the job during a summer internship
- Building professional networks by attending PackExpo or Packaging Jamboree
- Connecting with employers at the Spring 2023 Packaging Career Fair
There’s no better way for students to put their education to work and hone their professional skills than experiential learning. However, because students must typically fund these opportunities on their own, they are simply out of reach for many Hokies.
Give today and you’ll ensure that all packaging and sustainable biomaterials majors can have these transformational experiences. They have the passion and skills to make a difference—they just need your help to seize the opportunities.
