Celebrating 65 years of service with Extension, Virginia Tech and the Commonwealth of Virginia
Helen B. Williams is celebrating her 65th service anniversary at the Amherst County Extension Office. With no plans to retire anytime soon, she has earned the distinction of being the longest serving employee with Extension and Virginia Tech.
Those who have called or walked into the Amherst Extension office have been greeted by Helen’s warm and cheerful smile over the years. In fact, many of us have admittedly called her just to lift up our day! Her dedication and service to the only community she’s ever lived in has been her life’s work. She always says it’s all about the people and especially the children.
A Hokie at heart and Virginia Tech football fan, Helen has spent her life embodying Ut Prosim (That I May Serve). To honor her commitment, dedication and service to our land grant mission, we are establishing the Helen B. Williams Excellence Fund for Amherst Extension. Funds generated from the endowment will support camperships for 4-H youth and provide programmatic support for improving the well-being of those in the Amherst community in perpetuity.
Celebrate this extraordinary milestone anniversary and honor Helen with a gift to the Helen B. Williams Excellence Endowment for Amherst Extension. Together we are making a difference!
