Each year, the Virginia Tech Chapter of Minorities in Agriculture, Natural Resources and Related Sciences (MANRRS) supports professional development activities for students and sends outstanding students to regional and national meetings. We need your help to support the achievement of our students’ goals at the local, regional, and national levels.
The Virginia Tech Chapter of MANRRS is part of a national organization dedicated to the advancement and achievement of people in agriculture and natural resources and related fields. While MANRRS has many members in agricultural and natural resources, it is open to students and professionals of all backgrounds and majors.
By supporting our chapter’s fundraiser, you support local chapter meetings, student engagement in professional development activities, student chapter dues, and help a student attend national and regional MANRRS meetings.
Attendance at the MANRRS national conference helps students through:
- Participation in national contests that provide recognition to our students and Virginia Tech
- Developing our students’ core competencies, such as in critical thinking, teamwork, flexibility, and relationship building
- Helping our students identify job and internship opportunities in agriculture and natural resources and related fields
- Supporting professional networking, and in linking our students with the professionals who can help support their research
An investment in the Virginia Tech Chapter of MANRRS will help ensure that we can take more students to meetings at both the regional and national levels, and will expand the provision of professional development and community building activities for our students.
Give today to ensure that our local chapter thrives, and to help our students receive the support they need to achieve their professional goals.
