For first year student Joseph Ciemniecki a chapter scholarship helped with his out-of-state tuition.
Coming to Virginia Tech not only gave him access to a top engineering education, but he said, helped him grow and learn from others.
“Coming from out of state I have had the ability to expand my personality and develop as a person by learning more about people’s different experiences,” Ciemniecki said.
Each year chapters around the world rally together to raise money for student scholarships to help Hokies in their neighborhood. The scholarships make a difference for Hokies like Ciemniecki.
SE Michigan area alumni helped 1 students last year by raising $2,300.
You can support a new Hokie from our area by making a gift to our chapter’s crowdfunding campaign.
Together SE Michigan Hokies are trying to raise $1,000. Will you help?

“Thank you to everyone who has donated in the past and I hope everyone continues to donate because you have helped people like me personally felt the positive effects of your donations,” Ciemniecki said.
