Virginia Tech Crew is comprised of 50+ hard working, dedicated student-athletes who train five days each week in the early morning and late afternoon both on campus and at Claytor Lake in Pulaski County. The club competes in 3-4 intercollegiate regattas throughout the southeast each semester, and regularly finishes in the winner’s circle against both club and varsity crew teams.
Gifts made to Virginia Tech Crew would help pay for repairs and upkeep of the club’s racing shells, in addition to the periodic purchase of gently-used racing shells to replace ones that are no longer race-worthy.
Additionally, gifts made to Virginia Tech Crew will help raise additional funds to help defray the significant costs involved in a much-needed crew club boathouse at Claytor Lake. A boathouse (which currently does not exist) would provide protection from the elements for the club’s inventory of racing shells. Donations would help defray the planning and building costs for a basic protective structure.
