The Virginia Tech Clay Target ("Shooting Clays") Club welcomes students of all shooting abilities, including novice shooters. Club members compete in a number of different events at collegiate shoots throughout the mid-Atlantic region, including Skeet, Trap, Olympic Skeet, International Trap, 5-Stand, Sporting Clays and Super Sporting. The club competes every spring in the ACUI (Association of College Unions International) National Collegiate Clay Target Championships in San Antonio, TX. The club practices on a regular basis at the Izaak Walton Gun Club in Christiansburg, VA and at a private range in Pulaski, VA. The club strives for excellence in citizenship, scholarship and marksmanship.
Gifts made to the Virginia Tech Clay Target Club will help pay for ammunition, tournament entry fees and range fees, all of which cost several thousands of dollars each year.
