Summer school aid is essential to a successful season for the women's soccer team. Across the country, specifically within the ACC, women's soccer student-athletes arrive on campus at the start of the second summer school session. This allows dedicated student-athletes to pursue a head start in the classroom, but also provides them the ability to workout with their strength and conditioning coach, as well as hold captains' practice daily. COVID-19 budgets have restricted funds going to women's soccer student-athletes for summer school, putting them at an extreme disadvantage to start the 2022 season. Without this support, Virginia Tech women's soccer players will arrive on campus later than their ACC rivals and lose competitive ground within the conference. They will have less than two weeks to prepare for the rigorous ACC schedule, as opposed to the 6-8 weeks that is afforded with summer school aid.
The Virginia Tech women's soccer team has worked hard in the classroom, collectively earning above a 3.5 GPA. They are in the midst of an incredible season and are positioning themselves to make a strong run in the NCAA tournament.
