My name is Sam Dickerson and I am honored to be a part of the 2019 Homecoming Court with my sponsoring organization, The G.E.R.M.A.N. Club of Virginia Tech. I want to take this incredible opportunity to raise awareness towards “Spotting the Signs with Sam Dickerson” and its goal of providing mental health resources to local Blacksburg and Montgomery County youth, particularly upperclassmen in high school, prior to their transition to college. By informing them of the signs of mental health disorders and instilling confidence, I hope to help the next generation of high school graduates enter a college environment equipped to face mental health issues. Through our efforts to aid the Virginia Tech campus communities, “Spotting the Signs with Sam Dickerson” helps each member live out the Virginia Tech mission statement daily by serving others.
