The NASA SUITS (Spacesuit User Interface Technologies for Students) Design Challenge is for student teams to design and create space suit information displays within an augmented reality (AR) environment. These display and audio environments are intended to aid astronauts in performing spacewalk tasks.
In fall, universities competed across the country, and 12 teams were selected to move on to the final challenge, which takes place April 15-19, 2019 at the Johnson Space Center in Houston. Virginia Tech was one of the lucky finalists, and we need to send our team to the competition. In addition, we want to share our project and findings with workshops with K-12 audiences.

Our team is able to share materials at K-12 demonstrations, such as stickers and patches.
Our team can purchase STEM and Space materials for engagement activities, such as buttons and patches.
Team can give Augmented Reality demonstrations and share a pro-science shirt with an engaged audience member.
Helps a Virginia Tech student travel to the NASA Space Station in Houston to compete at the Augmented Reality challenge.
Fund one night for the group to stay in Houston while competing at the Johnson Space Center.
This donation would enable the team to purchase a HoloLens that we would use for A.R. testing and could take to K-12 demonstrations.
