Virginia Tech hopes for a breakout year from its strong group in the 2022-23 season. Head coach Terry Ann Zawacki-Holdren continues to strengthen her youthful squad, bringing in elite players from the European and American ranks, including Turkish freshman Özlem Uslu, who has an ITF junior career-high ranking of No. 90 in the world.
Coach Zawacki-Holdren has identified the following key needs to elevate the program to the next level in college tennis:
"The impact our donors make is tremendous. From scholarships to facilities, their generosity goes a long way in making a positive impact on the lives of our student-athletes. Because of our donors, our department is able to help student-athletes receive a first class education while earning their diplomas and competing in arguably the top tennis conference in the country. Because of our donors, our student-athletes are able to utilize resources such as PlaySight on our home courts, amazing nutrition education and services, top notch academic facilities, updated strength and conditioning resources, just to name a few which helps them to succeed both during their time on campus and after they graduate. Our donors play a huge role in the success of our student-athletes and we are very grateful for all they do!"
